Two Māori-oriented websites are being rated with the best in the world.
Māori Maps and the Māori Television websites are among eight New Zealand finalists in the global World Summit Awards for creativity and innovation in ICT.
The other finalists from Aotearoa are DigitalNZ, Life Education Trust, Loomio, Ponoko, Radio New Zealand and the Science Learning Hub.
Final judging takes place in Estonia in late October.
Māori Maps now has information, photographs and maps for almost 750 ancestral marae, using an interactive navigational and informational tool based on Google Maps.
