Fresh board sought for Auckland super city
The Auckland Mana Whenua Selection Body is looking for nominations for the next term of the Auckland Independent Māori Statutory Board.
Convenor Tame Te Rangi says as well as seven representatives from tribes whose rohe is part of the super city, the board needs two mātāwaka representatives covering Māori living in Auckland from other tribal areas.
He says the first term of the board showed its value and also the size and scope of the work members need to do.
He says committee members need the skills to sit on committees covering social, cultural and environmental issues and other functions of the Auckland council.
Nominations for the mātāwaka representatives close on August 2.
