Feedback sought on Maori land changes
Associate Māori Affairs Minister Chris Finlayson says unlocking the economic potential of Māori land will be good for the whole economy.
Mr Finlayson is seeking feedback on a review of the 1993 Te Ture Whenua Māori Act.
A review panel has recommended significant changes in the way Māori land is administered, including allowing a majority of engaged owners to determine how land will be used.
A hui is being held today at Pipitea Marae in Wellington, and the panel will be in Hastings tomorrow, Whanganui on Thursday and Taranaki on Friday.
Hui schedule can be found on: http://www.tpk.govt.nz/en/consultation/ttwma/
