New blood for Tenths board
A new member of the Wellington Tenths Trust says the board must work together to resolve some of the uncertainties of recent months.
Morrie Love, a former chief executive of the trust, was elected at the annual meeting on Saturday, along with Maurice Walden and Richard Te One.
Three sitting trustees, Sir Ngatata Love, Mark Te One and Jane Hughes were re-elected for three year terms.
Sir Ngatata has stepped aside from active involvement while the Serious Fraud Office investigates transactions under which his partner received consultancy fees from developers building on a trust property.
Mr Love says he expects Sir Ngatata to come through the investigation, but in the meantime some of the negativity which has troubled the trust needs to be resolved.
The trust, which owns land around Wellington, includes Taranaki Whanui beneficiaries who also belong to the Port Nicholson Settlement Trust, although the two are separate entities.
