Heather Te-Au Skipworth, who dropped out of the Ikaroa Rawhiti contest when incumbent Meka Whaitiri defected to the Māori Party, will stand in the Tukituki electorate this election.
She says its a no brainer, as she was born in Hastings and raised in Pakipaki.
She’s also counting on the fact people know her as a hard worker in the community and through her creation of the IRONMĀORI exercise challenge which has helped change thousands of people’s lives.
Te Au-Skipworth says Tukituki sits inside the Ikaroa-Rawhiti electorate, so it means she and Ms Whaitiri can support each other on the campaign trail.
