North Island Whanau Ora commissioning agency Te Pou Matakana is looking for professionals and organisations willing to work in a collective way to help whanau to develop.
Chair Merepeka Raukawa-Tait says traditional methods for solving social problems aren’t working, and too many organisations are working in isolation from one another.
Te Pou Matakana has set aside $6 million a year for three years to commission community groups, professionals, iwi and other organisations to develop and deliver new services aimed at achieving large-scale social change for whanau.
The new Collective Impact for Whanau programmes would be measured on outcomes rather than narrow process indicators.
Ms Raukawa-Tait says a key element with Whanau Ora is it should shift the focus from individuals to collectives, from sectoral interventions to inter-sectoral collaboration, and from crisis intervention to capability building.
