Alfred Trump shows face of National
Te Taitokerau MP Kelvin Davis says Associate Housing Minister Alfred Ngaro has been caught telling the truth.
Mr Ngaro has apologised to his party leaders after telling National’s Auckland regional conference the Government would cut funding to community agencies associated with Labour list candiate Willie Jackson if he attacks National on the campaign trail.
Mr Davis says it was a rare moment of honesty.
"This is the beauty of Willie Jackson. He infuriates some people so much they end up just flapping their mouths off and old Alfred Trump, ‘don’t do it our way and you will lose your contracts,’ and that is just outrageous. This is what National has been doing. If you criticise them it doesn’t matter if you are a social service provider or a school teacher or school principal, if you are caught criticising them they just come down and dump on you big time," he says.
Mr Davis says organisations Mr Ngaro attacked like the Salvation Army and Mr Jackson’s Manukau Urban Maori Authority are helping the most vulnerable in society.
