Taurua phenomenal choice for Ferns’ coach
The Silver Ferns are now in with a chance to take the next year’s Netball World Cup.
That’s the reaction from player turned politician Louisa Wall to Noeline Taurua becoming the team’s 11th coach.
Taurua will split her time next year between the national team and the Sunshine Coast Lightning, which she has just coached to a second Australian title.
Ms Wall says based on performance she’s in the same class as the All Blacks’ Steve Hanson.
"I know she hasn’t won and world cups yet but when I look at her success at the Magic, the Southern Steel, going over and creating this Lightning team that essentially came out of nowhere and has now gone back to back, when you look at it in that context she’s pretty phenomenal," she says.
