Tapsell for Fast Track Approval group
David Tapsell from Ngāti Whakaue’s Pukeroa Oruawhata Group has been appointed to the expert group advising on what projects should get scheduled in the new Fast Track Approvals Bill.
Mr Tapsell is also a board member of Te Puia NZ Māori Arts and Crafts Institute, a commercial lawyer and company director with over 20 years’ experience.
Other members include civil infrastructure engineer Rosie Mercer, fisheries sector veteran Vaughan Wilkinson, former Contact Energy chief executive David Hunt, urban planner Mark Davey and former Carter Holt Forestry environment manager Murray Parrish.
Regional Development Minister Shane Jones says the coalition Government is establishing a permanent, one-stop-shop fast-track approvals regime to speed up delivery of the infrastructure and major development projects.
The advisory group will supported by the Ministry for the Environment and Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment.
The Fast Track Approvals Bill was referred to the Environment Committee on March 7 and does not currently contain any projects in its schedules.
