Coalition reaches agreement to form new Government
The coalition parties have reached an agreement on which to form a government.
National, ACT and New Zealand First will ratify the agreement reached late this afternoon.
The Prime Minister, Chris Luxon, will go to Government House and let Governor General Cindy Kiro know that he is able to form a government.
The Agreement will be formally signed in Wellington tomorrow, with new Ministers to be sworn in on Monday.
It has taken 40 days since the election, and Chris Luxon has not indicated when the policy on which they have agreed will be announced.
Neither is there any indication of when Ministers and the portfolios they will hold will be announced.
However, the process of allocating office space at Parliament is set for Monday, an indication that this won’t be too far away.
