Kahurangi Carter, Ngāti Maniapoto, Tainui, is the former national manager of the zero-waste lobby body Para Kore – and a passionate social and climate justice advocate.
She says a fairer tax system – not more tax cuts for the richest New Zealanders is what people want.
“Over 50 percent of New Zealanders want a wealth tax, and it is a solution. We know that we can offer everybody in Aotearoa free dental care – but paid for 0.1 percent of the population,” she says.
Ms Carter says the Greens are far more closely aligned with Maori aspirations than Labour.
