Download AudioCountry singer Dennis Marsh says he’s grateful fellow singing legend Eddie Low is doing well in Christchurch hospital – but he seriously feared for his friend’s life.
80-year-old Low collapsed on Friday night, just before he was due to go on stage in Hokitika as part of the nationwide NZ Highwaymen tour.
Marsh, Gray Bartlett and Brendan Dugan went ahead with the concert to a packed audience
“It was quite sad really, I thought we might have lost him there for a minute. So we had to leave our mate there to the people who know what they’re doing .. and when we were finished he was gone.. he was gone to hospital. And boy, were we lucky. We were really lucky not to lose Ed,” he says.
Dennis Marsh says it’s great to know his mate is now out of danger, and in good hands at Christchurch hospital.
