Invasion Day protest at Australian consulate

It’s Australia Day, or as the country’s original inhabitants call it, Invasion Day.
To mark the event, Maori women’s group Te Wharepora Hou protested with music, poetry and speech outside the Australian Consulate in downtown Auckland.
Spokesperson Sina Davis Brown says it’s 228 years since the arrival of the first fleet arrived bringing British colonisation, which was done without any treaty or acknowledgment of the indigenous inhabitants.
Sina Davis Brown says Te Wharepora Hou is also challenging Maori living in Aboriginal land to support their struggles for justice and rights.
