Labour-Te Pāti Māori share social policies: PM Chris Hipkins

Prime Minister Chris Hipkins appears to be keeping the door open for Te Pāti Māori to work with a Labour government after the October elections.
Last week, the National Party completely ruled out working with Te Pāti Māori, Leader Chris Luxon saying it was clear to him that the two Parties had fundamentally different views on many issues.
Prime Minister Chris Hipkins on the other hand says, Labour and Te Pāti Māori have clear objectives in common.
“Some of the things we’re trying to achieve as a Government, making sure we’re closing the gaps in terms of educational achievement, making sure we’re delivering better health outcomes for all New Zealanders, dealing with the underlying causes of socio-economic disadvantage, those are areas we have clear objectives in common.” says Prime Minister Chris Hipkins.
However, the Prime Minister says, it’s premature to rule Parties in or out of cabinet at this early stage.
