Mental health challenge uncovers epic stories
All Black legend Ian Jones says he’s encouraged by the support he’s seeing for the Due Drop Hope Challenge for youth mental health.
He’s one of a group of sporting celebrities who set out on Tuesday who plan to swim, paddle, run and bike the North Island in 16 days.
He says the challenge, organised by the I Am Hope foundation’s Mike King, allows them to connect with communities and raise awareness and support through personal stories.
“This goes to prove is you connect people together great things can happen and that’s what I’ve been feeling in the communities we’ve been a part of so far. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity for us to do something unique and epic. It’s a big challenge in front of us but no bigger challenge than a lot of families face every day,” Mr Jones says.
