Candidates put up hands for Maori seats

Te Pāti Māori has unveiled more of the line-up it will take into the October general election.
Manurewa Marae chief executive Takutai Moana Kemp will contest Tāmaki Makaurau.
Party president John Tamihere says she has worked for decades in health and community development and has an intimate understanding of the daily struggles people face in Tāmaki.
Ms Kemp says she was asked to stand by a group of rangatahi who were asking for a voice that they trusted.
She says for too long rangatahi have been told to wait their time, and now is their time.
In Te Tai Tokerau, the Māori Party candidate will be Mariameno Kapa-Kingi, the chief executive of Te Aupouri.
She has held leadership positions in iwi health and social service organisations in the north.
As well as taking on incumbent Kelvin Davis, she will also be competing for votes with another iwi manager, Ngātiwai Trust Board CEO Huhana Lyndon, who is standing for the Green Party.
