A 1918 portrait of Wharekauri Tahuna, titled The Calm Close of Valour’s Various Day, sold for $925,000, with fees and gst taking the total to just over $1.1 million.
A painting titled Maori Chief with Hei Tiki sold for a total of $918,918.
A drawing of Guide Sophia sold for $156,000, a recod for a work on paper.
International Art Centre director Richard Thomson says demand for Goldie’s Maori work remains high.
