Peters goes for wrong white vote

Māori Party president John Tamihere is wishing Winston Peters well with his return to the political stage.
He says the New Zealand First leader’s speech to his party conference yesterday, accusing the Labour-Green Government of scattering the seeds of apartheid with its reforms, means he will only take votes from National and ACT – especially grumpy elderly voters.
“Can’t stand the reo, can’t stand the fact in applying our reo, which is an official language, somehow I’m taking something from them. They don’t get it, that they’ve suppressed, oppressed us for so long that their world is wrong, so Winston appeals to that sentiment,” Mr Tamihere says.
