Return to Castle Street makes Six60 happy band
Six60 lead singer Matiu Walters says for its fourth album the band has harked back to its breakthrough first album.
Castle Street, named after the Dunedin house the band lived while recording that first album while students at the University of Otago, was recorded in Los Angeles.
He says it reflects their journey as people and as a band.
“I feel coming into this album it’s the best and happiest and closest we’ve ever been because we’re grown up, we’re mature, we’ve got our own whanaus and we are a stronger whanau. Really Six60 the band continues to grow. Every kid we happen to pop out is really an extended member of the group,” Walters says.
The first single off of the album is Before You Leave
