Mike King is on the road with former rugby player and I Am Hope Foundation ambassador Tai Tupou to remind people of his Gumboot Friday on November 4.
Since 2019 the annual event has raised more than $2.8 million to fund free mental health counselling for tamariki and rangatahi.
He says the Gumboot Army Activation Tour is also a chance to tell people about his free counselling kaupapa.
“As much as we think everyone has heard about it, they haven’t and there are still families out there who are stuck on 18 months waiting lists under the current mental health system when they could jump onto ours and they could be seen inside a week,” Mr King says.
