Entrust dividend on its way
Aucklanders are set to get some cash back on their power bill.
Letters have been sent out to whanau eligible for Entrust’s 2020 dividend.
Entrust, formerly the Auckland Energy Consumer Trust represents about 348,000 households and businesses in central, east and south Auckland and Waiheke Island which were covered by the Auckland Electric Power Board before the 1993 electricity industry reforms.
Its major asset is a 75.1 percent shareholding in networking company Vector.
Dividend subcommittee chair Denise Lee says if you’re in the district and your name is on the power bill, regardless of provider, you could receive a few extra dollars in your back pocket.
Last year’s payout was $303.
“That’s pretty decent, right? That’s maybe dinner and movies, it might be some petrol in the car, school uniforms, groceries, who knows, We get amazing feedback every year about how really important that payment is,” Ms Lee says.
Whanau should visit the Entrust website to see if they’re eligible.
