Late offer fails to stop health strike
Up to 10,000 allied health workers are on strike today after an eleventh hour offer to settle their collective agreement was rejected by the PSA bargaining team.
PSA organiser Will Matthews says the DHBs failed to follow the recommendations from the Employment Relations Authority, and it’s also refusing to allow those recommendations to be made public.
He says the lack of transparency is in bad faith and can only be intended to keep allied health workers in the dark.
The PSA is calling for negotiations to be handed over to HealthNZ and the interim agency as it has lost confidence in the Ministry of Health.
