Download AudioHip hop legend Dean Hapeta says the time is right for the title track of his eight Upper Hutt Posse albums.
Hau is ready to drop next month and comes a decade after the posse’s last release, Declaration of Resistance.
Hapeta shares the mic with co-founders Blue Dredd I Knight & MC Wiya and guests Brannigan Kaa and King Homeboy.
He says HAU is a track he’s been working on for 17 years.
“It’s the breath. It’s the vital essence. It’s the air. It just so happens it’s such a timely title when everyone is being deprived of their breath, having to wear a mask because of a sickness, a virus spreading amongst the world’s population,” he says.
HAU will be out digitally on May 1 with a limited vinyl release in June/July.
