Little rejects measles campaign failing

Health Minister Andrew Little says a measles vaccination campaign is continuing.
National’s Health spokesperson Shane Reti says the $20 million campaign was botched, with $8 million of vaccines left unused and 11,206 people of the targeted 300,000 receiving including just 1181 Māori.
He says getting those vaccines into Māori arms cost $1500 a person in PR campaign costs alone.
Mr Little says Dr Reti is applying fictitious maths.
The campaign was disrupted by Covid, but is due to run until June, and could be extended.
He says the previous National Government was given advice in 2014 and 2017 that there was a problem with unvaccinated 15 to 30-year-olds but did absolutely nothing about it.
