Courage needed to fight racism

Auckland Arts Festival is today inviting people to have Courageous Conversations About Race.
The event streams online from 10.30 am with conversationalists including Race Relations Commissioner Meng Foon, Dame Naida Glavish, activists Ripeka Evans and Hilda Halkyard-Harawira , Oscar nominated film producer Chelsea Winstanley, award-winning internationally recognised author Glenn Singleton, Atamira Dance Company’s Moss Te Ururangi Patterson, Tigilau Ness, Teremonana Rapley and others.
The festival’s kaihautu Māori, Ataahua Papa, expects a challenging event.
“It really is some good kōrero from people who have been on the receiving end of racism and some tools to help us overcome that ugliness,” she says.
Event details can be found on the Auckland Arts Festival website.
