Green MP Dr Elizabeth Kerekere has apologised to her whānau and to party members for the slip that led to her being asked to step down from her role as Covid spokesperson.
The Tūranga-based MP travelled to Wellington on Sunday despite a household member testing positive for Covid-19 two days earlier.
She told Radio Waatea talkback host Shane Te Pou she stuffed up.
“I thought I knew the rules I was following and then it turned out I didn’t. I shouldn’t have travelled. I realised I made that mistake and I wanted to apologise to my whānau, to the people who voted for me, for our members, I stuffed that up,” Dr Kerekere says.
