Ukraine invasion undermines climate change work

An expert on climate change says the war in Ukraine is not only threatening lives but the planet.
Sandy Morrison, the head of Māori and Indigenous studies at the University of Waikato, says the war could blow apart the 2015 Paris Agreement where nations of the world committed to measures to limit global warming.
“It had the buy-in of so, so many countries because climate change does rest on these obligations that were made but with the change, in the world order Russia is trying to impose on Ukraine, that reverberates not only in Europe but throughout the world,” she says.
Sandy Morrison says the Paris Agreement relies on a common vision, ongoing dialogue and continuous respect.
