Ngāti Whātua o Kaipara is returning to whenua at Kaipara it has been isolated from for more than a century.

Ngā Maunga Whakahii o Kaipara is moving its office to Auckland Council’s Parakai Community Hub.

Chair Dame Naida Glavish says the new location will make it easier for whānau to access services.

She says it took some effort to get council to grasp the concept of joint management with iwi, but both sides are now happy.

To mark the return Ngā Maunga Whakahii has commissioned pou whakairo for the entrance.
