Operations manager Awerangi Tamihere says everyone in the team is double-vaccinated, and they’re tested every two days to ensure they haven’t taken Covid north.
Speaking from the Rāwene ferry, she says rather then leading the project, they’re there to support whānau ora partners like Hokianga Health.
“We’re just providing the extra manpower, the extra resources to support them to the vaccination campaign today but I want to tell you, everyone on this trip, the team on the ferry, they’re all from here – Panguru, Rāwene, Mangamuka – so you’re talking to the people who are from here who are talking to their own whānau,” she says.
