National keen to regain place on marae

National Party leader Judith Collins says National has almost no chance of winning a Māori seat, but it needs to be seen in them.
She says it’s important the party represents all of New Zealand, and it’s hard for its members to stand on marae if they are not candidates.
"We understand our chances of winning them are nil, almost, but it's not that. It's about number one the party vote as well but also making sure that Māori know we are relevant to Māori and Māori are relevant to us," she says.
Ms Collins says the party will work with its Kahurangi arm to identify candidates and the resources needed to again contest some of all of the Māori seats after a 20-year gap.
