MIT makes lunch of voting

The Manukau Institute of Technology is using kai, korero and waiata to encourage its Māori and Pasifika students to vote.
Spokesperson Tu Tu'ulua says it will run two events this week to talk about the importance of voting and make the process more engaging.
Such events can have a huge impact.
"Some of my friends around Otara have never voted before and it is about having those mini conversations that it's as easy as having an opinion and expressing what it is, and it's trying to encourage those guys that it is a right that some other people don't have," he says.
The first event will be at MIT Manukau at lunchtime on Wednesday, with another at MIT Otara on Thursday.
