Green Party picks anti-racism educator for Whangārei
The Green Party has selected party stalwart and anti-racism educator, Moea Armstrong, as its candidate for Whangārei in the September general election.
Ms Armstrong, who served four years as the party's national female co-convenor, says she is keen to campaign for the party vote in an election that will determine whether New Zealand carries on with business as usual or makes the bold change needed to clean up the environment and create fairer communities in the post-COVID world.
She says the country is at a positive turning point with the Waitangi Tribunal’s acknowledgement of the primacy of the Māori text of Te Tiriti o Waitangi, and the determination of Ngāpuhi to hold to that truth.
