Uncertain path for Te Matatini

Organisers of next year’s Te Matatini national kapa haka festival in Auckland face a long period of uncertainty about whether the festival can go on.
The remaining five regional finals have been postponed to August.
Tāmaki Makaurau Kapa Haka met last night by conference call to assess the current state of play.
Chair Paora Sharples says more than just Te Matatini will be affected.
"Auckland in general have a big year next year, not only Te Matatini, but Americas Cup and a whole lot of things. It could have a huge impact, COVID-19 on Tāmaki Makaurau. It's very much a waiting game to see how things progress" says Paora Sharples.
