Taulelei tapped for Apec role
Rachel Taulelei, the chief executive of Whakatū Incorporation’s food and beverage arm Kono, will chair the Apec business advisory council when New Zealand hosts the summit of Asia Pacific leaders in 2021.
Christchurch Airport chief executive Malcolm Johns and Toni Moyes, the chief operating officer of insurance software company Montaux, were also added to the council.
The council, made up of representatives from the forum's 21 members, meets several times a year.
Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern says the appointments will ensure a diverse New Zealand perspective on the council.
Ms Talelei is a former New Zealand Trade Commissioner based in Los Angeles before starting Wellington sustainable seafood company Yellow Brick Road, which is now part of Kono.
