Shearing giant Koro Mullins dies

There's shock in the shearing world at the sudden death yesterday of Koro Mullins at the age of 65.
Doug Laing from Shearing Sports New Zealand says as well as being known as a commentator, the Golden Shears finalist and his wife Mavis built a successful Dannevirke-based shearing company, Paewai Mullins.
He says hundreds of tributes have been pouring in from around the world.
The Golden Shears finalist was deeply involved at every level for the industry and the sport.
"The family had real care particularly with a lot of British, UK, Norwegian, German shearers and wool handlers who had come to New Zealand to work in the season. At the peak of the season the business employed over 100 people, one of Dannevirke's biggest employers. It's now run by Aria, one of Koro and Mavis's four kids. This is felt worldwide within the industry and within the sport," Mr Laing says.
Koro Mullins will be laying at rest in Dannevirke.
