Dream guest boosts new Māori TV show launch
Musician Moana Maniapoto is about to embrace the high pressure world of current affairs television.
She's fronting Te Ao With Moana which makes premieres on Māori Television this evening.
Backed by a team of experienced journalists including Iulia Leilua, Wena Harawira and Kim Webby, she says she'll try to connect the dots to some of the big issues of the day.
The first show will feature the Māori pūtea spend in the Wellbeing Budget – what it's for and who holds the purse strings.
"I had a dream guest, the Prime Minister, so that was an opportunity to sit down and have a real good gasbag and peel away the branding of the budget and drill down a little bit and she is fabulous and gracious and really on to it," Ms Maniapoto says.
Te Ao With Moana is at 8pm on Maori Television.
