Support part of housing fix

Māori Development and Associate Housing Minister Nanaia Mahuta is keep to pluck ideas out of this week's conference reporting back on research done for the Building Better Homes, Towns and Cities National Science Challenge.
Shift Aotearoa at Te Papa includes a strong focus on Māori housing, with case studies of initiatives around the country.
She says there is clearly a continuum of options, from work done to get the homeless into homes through the Housing First model to various schemes promoting home ownership.
"Government's part of the solution and the work I am doing alongside Phil Twyford is intended to respond to that, but more and more communities are putting their hands up and saying 'We've got a solution, it's not just about housing, it's about wraparound support for whānau that are vulnerable and need support and we want to partner this space,'" Minister Mahuta says.
