Māori radio innovator to head future review
The man who helped lead a successful youth-oriented radio station Mai Fm on an Auckland Māori frequency has been picked to head an advisory panel on the Māori Media Shift review.
Graham Pryor has also just completed a term on the board of Radio New Zealand.
Te Puni Kōkiri chief executive Michelle Hippolite says the panel will provide strategic oversight on high-level options for the future of the Māori media sector and its role in supporting the revitalisation of te reo Māori.
Ms Hippolite says the panelists bring a wealth of experience, knowledge and expertise in te reo Māori revitalisation, media and broadcasting, governance, management, finance, intellectual property rights, digital innovation and future focused thinking.
The other panellists are Quinton Hita, Lynell Huria, Cherie Tirikatene Le Cheminant and Julian Wilcox.
