Seymour act on Māori seats messy

Greens co-leader Marama Davidson says ACT leader David Seymour is treating Māori voters as a plaything.
At his party’s annual conference at the weekend, Mr Seymour called for a reduction in the number of MPs to 100, including getting rid of the Māori seats.
Ms Davidson says the Epsom MP, whose party got just 13,000 votes last election, is trolling for political attention.
"The fact that this is all he has got, this is where he has to go to get some attention, is a bit sad, we'll say ka aroha to David. The Māori electorate which of course is diverse, he might think we're just a plaything despite his own Ngāpuhi whakapapa, but people need to be very clear, the Māori electorate is not one to be messed around with," she says.
The ACT attack reinforces the Greens desire to entrench Māori seats at both national and local government level.
