Housing help as Rotorua clean up continues

The Government has activated a temporary accommodation service for Rotorua residents who were affected by recent severe rain and flooding.
Jenny Salesa, the Associate Minister of Housing and Urban Development, says the service is working with local authorities to assess the damage and establish how many homes will need to be repaired.
A significant number of households need help to find temporary accommodation.
The service will register displaced people, establish what accommodation options are suitable, and connect them together.
Ms Salesa says similar help was provided for the Christchurch and Kaikoura earthquakes and the Edgecumbe floods.
People can register at www.temporaryaccommodation.mbie.govt.nz or call 0508 754 163 .
