Palmerston North City Council
Voting papers go out tomorrow for the poll on whether Palmerston North will have a Maori ward.
The referendum was forced by a petition promoted by the Hobson's Pledge lobby group, and the outcome is binding on the council.
The postal votes must be in by May 19.
Papers have already gone out for a similar poll in neighbouring Manawatu District Council, which closes on May 15.
Votes had gone against Maori wards in all but one case nationally where a referendum has been been held.
