Toki to head Ngapuhi Runanga
Te Runanga o Ngapuhi has opted for a familiar face with its appointment of Lorraine Toki as its new chief executive.
She replaces Tony Dowling, who stood down at the end of last year with health problems after just over a year on the job.
Ms Toki had been the project manager for Ngapuhi claim settlement body Tohoronuku.
She holds a masters in management and a post graduate diploma in business-Maori development from the University of Auckland,
Runanga chair Sonny Tau says her career has been committed to Ngapuhi kaupapa and Te Tai Tokerau.
Ms Toki takes over an organisation that is struggling to position itself as the preferred post-settlement entity for Ngapuhi, if it can get the claim settlement process back on track.
