PM opens ears to Te Taitokerau

Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern says she’s approaching her time in Te Taitokerau with an open mind and a willingness to learn.
She has a series of meetings today, and she will stay around the Bay of Islands until Waitangi Day.
She says it’s a great opportunity to meet a range of groups, including the Iwi Leaders Forum, the Maori Women’s Welfare League, Maori wardens and local government.
"It was just a really good opportunity to sit down and korero with a number of people I really want to talk to and to plan out how we can work together on some issues we as a new Government want to as well – things like housing, what we can do to improve our corrections system and reduce the Maori incarceration rate, just every idea is on the table," Ms Ardern says.
