Island style for Jones wedding
Regional Development and Infrastructure Minister Shane Jones made a contribution to Cook Islands development by choosing the island national as the venue for his wedding to partner Dorothy Pumipi.
The pair tied the knot on Friday on the beach at the Rarotongan Resort hotel in front of about 70 guests, including their tamariki and mokopuna.
Other guests included Deputy Prime Minister and New Zealand First leader Winston Peters and Trade Minister David Parker, the traditional lead of Rarotonga Pa Ariki, and Cook Island friends including several former schoolmates from St Stephen’s College.
Mr Jones told local media he fell in love with the island during his time as New Zealand’s ambassador for Pacific economic development.
