Keep calm and poll on as Greens claw back
Green MP Marama Davidson says the party is clawing back after its tumble in support, and it's counting on Maori support to help it back into parliament.
The party dropped below the 5 percent threshold after the resignation of co-leader Metiria Turei after her benefit fraud revelation, but the latest Newshub Reid research poll puts it on 6.1 percent.
Ms Davidson says it has honed its attack to focus on poverty, cleaning up rivers, action on climate change and compulsory te reo Maori lessons in schools.
"I think the trend the polls are showing is right and I hope we are under performing a little in the polls. We certainly are in the Maori electorates. For the past at least two election cycles the Maori polls have had us down 6 to 9 points on the final result on the night," she says.
