Manuhiri whanau art to light up Town Hall

Works by Ngati Manuhiri artists Star, Aroha and Ra Gossage and their late father Peter Gossage will be projected onto the Auckland Town Hall this evening at a lead in to the city’s Matariki festival.
Peter Gossage was known for the series of books he wrote and illustrated for children retelling tales of Maui and other Maori legends.
Aroha Gossage says it’s an honour and privilege to see the work given new life for the Maori new year by the magic of 3D projection mapping.
"It’s an opportunity to promote and celebrate Maori culture and art and a renewal and time for new life and season," she says
The official Matariki opening ceremony is at Tawharanui Regional Park at dawn on June 10.
