It’s a day at home watching the rain for many tamariki, with the Education Ministry advising schools and early learning centres to remain closed in areas hit by the full force of Cyclone Cook.
Ministry deputy secretary Katrina Casey says the closures affect all 57 schools and about 80 ECEs in the Eastern Bay of Plenty, as well as schools on Great Barrier Island, Waiheke, Franklin area, Thames and Coromandel.
That means they are now closed until the end of the school holidays.
