Party prepares for big election year
Maori Party co-leader Te Ururoa says the party is getting into good shape as prepares for next year's election.
The party's annual meeting on Saturday elected Tukoroirangi Morgan as its president.
Mr Flavell says he went to St Stephen's College with Mr Morgan, and he looks forward to working closely with the Tainui leader in the new role.
"I'm sort of feeling confident that with the move to new leadership, with the impetus we have gained in the Budget, the work the two of us have been doing and the realisation of our people that is if you want change you must be at the table, whether it is a red table or a blue table, because if you are in Opposition, basically you get nothing," he says.
