For the Love of It wins cookbook prize for Birds
A decision by 2014 Masterchef New Zealand winners Karena and Kasey Bird to publish their own cookbook has paid off, with the Maketu sisters picking up the tohu for best TV cookbook at the Gourmand World Cookbook Awards in China.
On their Facebook page the pair thanked photographer Deborah Aspray and designer Kate Barraclough for helping them turn pieces of paper hung all over their parent's house into the book For The Love Of It.
They say publishing the cookbook has been one of the most fulfilling experiences they have had, and they look forward to coming home to celebrate with whanau.
Karena and Kasey Bird will also star in Te Papa’s Maori new year celebrations, hosting a Nga Kai o Matariki cooking demonstration at the national museum on June 19.
