A unique view of the landscape will be coming to screens soon thanks to drone technology.
Aotearoa From Above is a 10-part series from producer Brad Walker and director Toby Mills.
Presenter Tainui Stephens says putting a camera on a drone is a great way of showing something fresh in familiar parts of the country.
"To be able to imagine your eyes are those say of a hawk or or bird that is hovering over these pa sites, over these tohu whenua, over these moana, over these marae, and just getting a different view, a view from above. That is exciting and it is beautiful it is just beautiful to be able to examine the shape of our country," he says.
Filming has started in his home territory around the Hokianga Harbour.
